God’s Heart for the Deaf
To prayerfully cast a vision and initiate a movement that empowers Deaf Christians/churches to reach their own for Christ, locally and globally, in partnership with Pioneer Bible Translators and San Antonio churches.
There are over 350 different sign languages and 65 million Deaf people worldwide who do not have God’s Word in their heart language. They are the largest unreached people group in the world and have often been marginalized, misunderstood, and overlooked. The Deaf community is desperately in need of God’s Word in a visual rather than auditory mode. Pioneer Bible Translators, called by God and invited by Deaf ministries to help with the mission of translation, has begun praying that God would reveal to us how we can best show the Deaf that Christianity is not limited to the hearing.
We believe God’s time is now to build and strengthen partnerships with San Antonio congregations who also have a heart for the Deaf community. Working together, we can accomplish far more for the kingdom than each part working separately. The timing of God is evident in CBC’s desire to plant Deaf churches in San Antonio and Pioneer Bible Translator’s expansion into overseas Deaf translation. Together we can learn from internationally known Deaf ministers and collaborate with hearing and Deaf Christians who are knowledgeable, wise, and enthusiastic about how much the Deaf community has to offer in the effort to reach those who have not yet seen the Gospel.
- What is Available?
- What is Achievable?
- How do we get from Available to Achievable?
We invite you to join this meeting as we ask God to give us His vision and His answer to these strategic questions. Please come and be a part of this movement!
