There are churches across the country, but most communicate in spoken and written Portuguese, not Brazilian Sign Language, which is a completely distinct language.

For many Deaf people walking into church, they cannot understand the songs, the sermon, or the message of Scripture. For several, church is not just difficult. It is completely inaccessible.

Many Deaf Brazilians have never encountered God’s Word in a language they truly understand. But your gift can help change that.

Through Pioneer Bible Translators, missionaries are going to Brazil to build meaningful relationships and bring God’s Word to Deaf people in a language they can truly understand.
