The precious people of the Nile Africa region have existed under decades of desperate chaos. Generations have suffered from the pain of genocide, extreme poverty, and trauma. They plead, “If God is good, why do these bad things happen?” Questions like these keep some from knowing Christ as Savior. They cause others to leave the church in bitterness. They embrace darkness, perpetuating a new cycle of violence and trauma.
The Trauma Care team shines the light of Christ to the people through healing groups that answer these tough questions. Two refugees from the community serve as staff, facilitating healing groups, and leading training cycles to equip church and community leaders to minister to the lost and hurting.
These trained national volunteers bring back amazing reports of what God is doing. A rising conflict between refugees and their host community has been resolved. A grieving Muslim father and his entire household turned to Jesus. Peace was made between two hostile tribes in the refugee camp. Program participants report overcoming depression, forgiving others who have committed unspeakable acts, and finding salvation in Jesus Christ.
Churches and community leaders from throughout the region cry out, requesting that our team come and help. The need is staggering. The Trauma Care team is ready to expand this essential ministry throughout the Nile Africa region by developing, equipping, and launching additional teams in strategic locations.
Thank you for considering how God is asking you to join us in these efforts with prayers, a one-time gift, and/or a monthly partnership.
