A group of Dumas-speaking middle schoolers in Southeast Asia were struggling to access age-appropriate books in their own language — or even in the national language.
Their school library only had books written for adults and reference books that were beyond their reading level.
Most students were too discouraged to engage with books academically or spiritually.
Your support put Bible story books into the hands of these students. Suddenly they were interested!
One day at a school assembly, the students received Scripture books containing 25 Old Testament stories translated into the Dumas language. Each Scripture story was accompanied by questions that helped these middle schoolers reflect on what they read.
After reading the books himself, the headmaster said, “We have to do more of this and get the Dumas translation out to many more people.”
The students eagerly embraced the new books, excited about having stories they could understand and enjoy. Now other schools in the area are asking for copies of these books for their students!
Thank you for helping provide God’s Word to these middle schoolers!
