Extreme Prayer

When I first became president of Pioneer Bible Translators I panicked. I knew everyone expected some awesome strategy from me, but I didn’t have one. So I did what Bible Translators do…I went to the Bible. I found biblical principles that Jesus taught would access unlimited power from God. I thought, “What if this would actually work?” I proposed to the board of Pioneer Bible Translators that, instead of praying about our strategies, we would make prayer the strategy. That was as clever as I could get. Back then we were ministering in 5 countries, now 14. We were translating the Bible into 35 languages, now 62. Our team basically doubled in size and income. It turns out prayer is a great strategy! After God taught me these principles, he made it clear that I needed to write them down and share them. This book is the result:

Extreme Prayer is about how to make prayer the core strategy to grow your business or ministry. Using stories from family life, mission work, and leadership experiences, Extreme Prayer illustrates how to pray in a way that Jesus promises will release infinite power from God for serving in the Kingdom:

  1. God Answers Prayer in Jesus’ Name
  2. God Answers Prayers of Faith and Faithfulness
  3. God Answers Persistent Prayer
  4. God Answers Unified Group Prayer
  5. God Answers Specific Prayers That Build Faith
  6. God Answers Faith-Filled Complaints

This is not a guilt trip about needing to pray more. It’s about praying differently; praying in ways that combine all of these principles to maximize the promises of Jesus about prayer. I believe God had me write Extreme Prayer so that ordinary people would find the power to accomplish extraordinary things in the Kingdom of God.
