J.R. Bucklew serves as the Chief Advancement Officer for Pioneer Bible Translators, where he leads the organization’s global Advancement efforts. In addition to his executive role, J.R. also serves as the Africa Area Director of Sign Language Projects, providing strategic oversight to Deaf-led ministry efforts across the continent. He regularly spends time in Ethiopia, serving among unreached Deaf communities and training local leaders to carry the Gospel into some of the hardest-to-reach places in the Horn of Africa. J.R. also serves as a global advocate for Deaf peoples, helping donors, churches, and ministry leaders prioritize the Bibleless Deaf as a strategic focus of mission effortst.
