Translating the New Testament into the Somau Garia Language of Papua New Guinea

Todd and Angela are passionate about partnering with God in his great mission to “reconcile the world to himself in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:19)

In pursuit of that passion, they moved to Papua New Guinea in 1997 and learned the language and culture of the Somau Garia people of southern Madang Province. They began translation of the Gospel According to Mark in September 2002, celebrating its publication and distribution with an enormous celebration Easter Sunday 2007.

They are currently working alongside the Somau Garia Translation Committee to complete the translation of the New Testament.
