Ahmed is a young man from a rural village in West Africa. His life has always been a struggle. His mother died when he was only 10. He was raised by an abusive, alcoholic father and a stepmother who rejected him. Ahmed was alone. And yet despite his pain, he held onto the hope that there was something more for him — an education, a future, a purpose-filled life.
Ahmed’s dreams of education were shattered when his father sold the goats he had raised to pay for school. But God had something better in store for Ahmed … a wonderful gift that you helped make possible!
Ahmed found a family and a future! He reached out to a Pioneer Bible family that had come to live in his village. He was welcomed into their lives as if he were their own child.
Ahmed went on a trip with the missionary family and saw mountains and waterfalls for the first time. He began to sense the presence of a big and loving God as he encountered the beauty of his country. “God is big,” he said again and again. That experience, along with the care of the missionary family, opened his heart to the love of Christ and began to change the way he saw his life.
Ahmed now lives in the capital city and works with Pioneer Bible Translators. As an electrician and maintenance worker, he supports Bible translation and our missionaries in practical and essential ways. He has become a follower of Jesus and is growing in his faith.
Thank you for helping Ahmed find the transformation that comes only through Jesus.
