Before Anna knew the Lord, her life was dominated by conflict, violence, and fear of the spiritual forces around her.

When her husband Martin began working on the Aruamu Bible translation team, Anna began to learn about Jesus.

As the Bible translation progressed, Anna began reading God’s Word in her own language. She learned that Jesus is the Way, and she began following Him.

Anna is a believer empowered by the Holy Spirit. She now knows — and seeks to follow — godly principles for living. Her children are also following the way of Jesus rather than the traditional ways of the Aruamu people.

Other people in Anna’s community are noticing that she and her family are different. The community is being strengthened as they see a living example of how Jesus taught His followers to live in love.

“I have seen great change in my life because the Word of God has come in my own language,” Anna shares. “I can read and understand much better in the Aruamu language than in Tok Pisin or English.”
