Thursday Prayer Focus: Fast and Pray – August 15, 2024

praying hands with Bible

Because prayer is the strategy of Pioneer Bible Translators, our worldwide team intentionally sets aside a day of fasting and prayer every month. On this day, we join in unified prayer, offering up to our Father praises and requests collected especially for this day. Please join this concert of prayer today by praying with us for our teammates and the people among whom they serve.

  • Thank you, God, for bringing together a team to translate your Word into a language spoken by a large number of people in a difficult-to-access location in Nile Africa.
  • Thank you, God, for the recent publication of James, 1 and 2 Peter, Philemon, and Titus in another widely spoken language in Nile Africa. Thank you that the team serving in this language project has finished drafting the entire Bible.
  • Thank you, God, for the two new families who are arriving soon in Nile Africa. Please prepare their teammates to receive them well, and please lead them to the language helpers and local friends they need as they settle into their new homes and begin building relationships and language fluency.
  • God, please strengthen the national translators with whom we work in Nile Africa to be able to understand your Word and communicate it clearly in their own languages.
  • God, please help our teammates overcome obstacles so the Pentateuch can be printed for a people group in West Africa. Please help this team finish the New Testament by 2029.
  • Thank you, God, for preparing the way for the translation of Luke 1-4 into a language spoken in West Africa’s Gulf Coast. Please give the local translators on this team the ability to translate your Word with understanding and clarity.
  • Thank you, God, for fruitful partnerships with churches and other ministries in the cities where Pioneer Bible teammates are serving refugee communities in the U.S. and Europe.
  • God, please provide workers and resources for responding to ministry opportunities among refugees in the Atlanta area.
  • God, please help Pioneer Bible Translators connect with churches and mission agencies in Europe to mobilize Europeans for involvement in serving Bibleless people.
