Amina is a member of an oppressed people group in a war-torn region of Africa. Her people follow a religion that doesn’t acknowledge Jesus as God’s Son.
Amina always had a scowl on her face, and she always had a complaint to share. She had no hope that her circumstances would ever change.
One day, Amina started attending learning sessions YOU helped provide in her community. The sessions focused on economic and agricultural development. They also included Bible teaching.
Amina didn’t seem very engaged in what was being taught. But she kept coming back even though she seemed uncomfortable.
Then one day, Amina approached one of the trainers and told him, “I want to follow Jesus. I’ve been thinking about this for a while.” He talked and prayed with her.
Today, Amina’s countenance has changed completely. Joy has replaced her former scowl. Amina is growing in her faith and is being discipled to embrace her identity as God’s daughter rather than as an oppressed woman. Her transformation has opened the door for her family to know Christ.
Thank you for providing a place where Amina could learn about Jesus! She made a decision that changed her life, and her face now reflects the joy of knowing Jesus.
