You Helped Provide Scripture That Fibi Could Understand!

Having God’s Word in her own language strengthened Fibi’s faith and helped her share with her community.

Fibi is an Apal-speaking woman living in a small village in Papua New Guinea’s tropical rainforest. She became a Christian many years ago.

Fibi’s faith in Jesus was strong, but she struggled. The only Scripture available to her was a New Testament in another language.

It was especially difficult to understand because she didn’t know how to read.

You helped Fibi’s faith grow with your support of a New Testament translation!

A missionary arrived in Fibi’s village to translate God’s Word into the Apal language. She also offered Scripture-based reading classes and materials.

Fibi was one of her first students. Fibi’s hunger to know God led her to read ahead in her lesson book.

She thought about the Scriptures she read, and her relationship with God grew. Fibi has learned from God’s Word that she can trust Him for comfort and protection.

When Fibi’s husband died, she openly defied her people’s tradition of blaming death on sorcery and seeking revenge. She stood firm against this practice, refusing to allow someone else to be killed in revenge for her husband’s death.

Having God’s Word in her own language has been vital to Fibi’s walk with Jesus.

“The Apal Scriptures are easier to understand,” she affirms. “With God’s help I can share the Good News with others.”

Thank you for helping provide God’s Word in Fibi’s language! She is sharing God’s love and showing her community what it means to choose God’s way.
