Lut is a Christian Apal woman in Papua New Guinea. She never had the opportunity to go to school.

Lut desperately wanted to read Scripture so she could know Jesus and His teachings. She saw other people reading their Bibles, but she wasn’t able to.

Lut asked missionary Martha Wade to teach her to read. After the first lesson, Martha gave her a reading primer so Lut’s husband could help her learn. But he only ridiculed her.

So Lut prayed and trusted that God would help her read. And He did!

Lut is now able to read God’s Word for herself. But she went one step further in faith. The Apal people wanted an audio recording of the New Testament. This was important to them because few are fluent readers. Lut volunteered and recorded nearly half the book of Acts plus portions of Romans and 2 Peter.

Lut trusts and praises God, and other people are inspired by her faith when they hear her voice in their audio Scriptures.
