Gratitude for God’s Faithfulness: A Year of Answered Prayers

Prayer is at the heart of everything Pioneer Bible Translators does. We have seen God’s hand move mightily in answer to prayer as our teammates translate Scripture and make disciples in some of the most remote and challenging places in the world. Today we pause to reflect on a few of the many ways God has answered prayer throughout this year. We invite you to join us in celebrating His faithfulness.

• January: “God, we praise you that translation of the Gospel of Luke into a Southeast Asian language has been completed. Thank you that many local people involved in this work are coming to know you.”

Praise God for the dedicated translators and the impact this will have on spreading the message of Christ in Southeast Asia.

• February: “Thank you, God, for the local people who have recently stepped into leadership roles with our team in East Africa.”

Praise Him growing faith in East Africa and for the boldness of these believers as they partner with us in the Gospel.

• March: “God, we praise you for the 14 field workers from our Global Partners in Brazil, Canada, Poland, and Ukraine who are serving in six countries.”

Thank God for the global mobilization of workers and pray that they will be sustained and strengthened as they step into this new calling.

• April: “Thank you, God, for the faith of many of our national teammates. Please grow them in their relationship with you and in their personal sense of mission in their homes and communities.”

Praise God for the perseverance of national workers and pray that they will continue to be a light in their communities.

• May 2024: “Thank you, God, for the completion and printing of the Gospel of Luke in a language spoken in Southeast Asia.”

Praise Him for this milestone in Southeast Asia and ask that the Scriptures will bring transformation to many lives.

• June 2024: “Thank you, God, for each person who is attending this week’s Discovery event in Dallas, Texas. Thank you for the opportunities each participant will have to hear stories of how you are transforming lives in the many places where we serve.”

Praise God for the growing interest in mission work across North America and pray that many will commit to serving in the global mission field.

• July: “Thank you, God, for the new teammates who recently arrived in West Africa to serve a Bibleless people group.”

Praise God for the additional support and resources being sent to West Africa, and pray that these new workers will be fruitful in their mission.

• August: “Thank you, God, for the ministries you gave our interns this summer. Thank you for the ways you are using their experiences to prepare them for the future ministries you have for them.”

Praise Him for the impact of this summer’s internship program, and pray that these interns will continue to grow in faith and service.

• September: “Thank you, God, that the book of James and four other New Testament epistles have been published in a language that is widely spoken in Nile Africa.”

Praise God for this significant milestone and pray that these newly translated Scriptures will bring transformation and hope to many in the region

• October: “Thank you, God, for guiding our Deaf Ministries team in their search for the best way to release the Action Bible in American Sign Language. We praise you for the initial release of a segment on YouTube late last month.”

Praise Him for this truly unique resource that can bring both Deaf and hearing people together to study God’s Word.

• November: “Thank you, God, for opening opportunities to serve refugee communities in two new locations this year.”

Praise God for turning the tragedy of entire people groups being displaced from their home into opportunities for unreached people to have His Word in their language.

As we reflect on the past months, we are reminded of God’s unwavering faithfulness. The prayers of His people have played a critical role in advancing the mission of Bible translation and disciple-making. From Southeast Asia to West Africa, and across the globe, we have witnessed how prayer moves mountains. We invite you to keep praying with us — for open doors, perseverance, and spiritual growth as we step into the final months of 2024.
