The Kutu people are an East African community with limited access to the Gospel in their own language.

They live in a region where most people follow a religion that discourages learning about Jesus, leaving them with little exposure to His message.

The Kutu people had never experienced the story of Jesus in their own language. Concepts like forgiveness and salvation were difficult to explain in Kutu, and people in the community were hesitant to explore Christianity due to cultural and religious barriers.

When the Gospel of Luke was translated into Kutu and incorporated into the Jesus Film, it brought the story of Jesus to life in an accurate, clear, culturally relevant way.

Over 400 people showed up to watch one showing of the film — more than expected! They gathered together to watch, hear, and experience the message of Jesus in their own language.

As they watched the film, the Kutu people responded with enthusiasm. They cheered at Jesus’ miracles and gasped at His suffering. After seeing His death and resurrection, dozens of people expressed a desire to follow Him. Many stayed afterward to ask questions and learn more about Jesus.
