Jekop’s House Was Destroyed — How Your Gift Helped Him Respond

Jekop was a witness to all his neighbors when he responded with forgiveness instead of seeking revenge.

Jekop is an Apal man in Papua New Guinea. He had a strong sense that God had called him to teach and disciple others as well as translate the Bible into the Apal language.

One day when Jekop was away from his village meeting with other church leaders, his house was destroyed by fire. When he returned to his village, Jekop was emotional and very upset. His neighbors expected him to start accusing others of starting the fire. But the opposite happened.

Jekop took a deep breath and told them, “Pray and be quiet and leave it in God’s hands.”

The translation work that you made possible helped Jekop model a Biblical response to a wrong deed!

Through Jekop’s teachings and example, the Scriptures in Apal are helping people know and walk with Jesus, and their lives are being transformed!

Thank you for supporting Bible translation! Praise God for changed lives all over the world!
