Agribusiness Internship

Southeast Asia
Man walking along a river in Asia

In Southeast Asia, Christian leaders have been engaged in Business As Ministry for over 20 years. God has united businessmen and ministers to support each other—businessmen mentoring ministers, and ministers discipling businessmen—together building Kingdom-minded businesses. These leaders recognize the need for sustainable, replicable business models that can transform their communities, especially in regions facing chronic poverty.

In a region where poverty and hopelessness can contribute to social issues like drug addiction, sustainable business models provide a path toward transformation. Through this internship, you’ll be part of a movement that brings not only economic growth, but also hope and healing to families and communities in need.

Project #1: Sustainable Sow Farm Development

In this part of Southeast Asia, two men have already successfully developed a thriving fruit orchard and organic vegetable farm. Now, they are creating a model sow farm that integrates innovative agricultural practices to improve both food production and livelihoods in rural communities.

Interns will dive into every aspect of the farm’s operations, including grain drying, feed preparation, breeding, and animal care. You’ll assist in building grain bins, assembling them on-site, and possibly constructing essential structures like sow barns and finishing units. This is hands-on work where you’ll be learning key skills in farm management, sustainability, and agricultural innovation. Your efforts will not only help this farm flourish, but also contribute to the creation of future model farms in villages across Southeast Asia.

Project #2: Orchard Vehicle Innovation

Fruit orchards provide a reliable income for many rural families. However, farmers often face challenges with manual labor. A local machinist has engineered the region’s first locally built small utility vehicle, designed to make orchard work more efficient and manageable.

As an intern, you will be part of the team constructing and testing this innovative vehicle. Your role will include improving the design, assisting in its production, and delivering it to farmers for a trial run. You’ll also help identify new metal fabrication tools that could enhance vehicle production, brainstorming ways to make future models even more effective for local farmers.
