People in this area of the world want a deeper understanding of the Bible in the language they know best. This goes beyond the Bible translation in the language of wider communication (LWC). We have seen numerous times where someone reads one of our mother tongue translations and says something like, “I never understood that verse until now.” We also see that our translations are a cultural bridge to peoples of a neighboring faith. Many of those of the neighboring faith wouldn’t be compelled to read the Bible available to them in the LWC, but when they see their mother tongue written they want to interact with it.
Without finance workers, we would have no financial resources and accountability to fund Bible translation projects. This opportunity is for an intern who has some experience and interest in finance on the mission field. They will have the opportunity to see what day to day finance work looks like on the field. This intern will be based in the main office and will not travel a lot around the country.
