The Reality
In global missions, reliable technology is critical. When systems break, work on the frontlines slows down. Based at our Dallas headquarters, this internship places you on the frontlines of tech support, ensuring our global teammates have the tools and assistance they need to carry out Kingdom work without technical interruption. You’ll join a uniquely bilingual department (English and American Sign Language) and you’ll be part of a vibrant cohort of Dallas-based interns to live and pray with, engage in local DFW evangelism alongside, and get plugged into local churches and area ministries together.
What You Might Actually Do
- Tech Support & Troubleshooting: Assist teammates locally and globally with hardware, software, network, and account issues to keep operations running smoothly.
- System Maintenance & Deployment: Help configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, workstations, and essential software tools for departing and returning field personnel.
- User Training & Documentation: Create clear, user-friendly tech guides and walk teammates through best practices to prevent recurring technical friction.
- Deaf Culture Immersion: Work within a bilingual department alongside Deaf and hearing teammates. While active ASL fluency isn’t required, you will actively learn and engage with ASL and Deaf culture daily.
Who This Is For
- Required Mindset: Patient communicator, natural problem solver, eager to learn ASL, service-oriented, and excited about enabling others through technology.
- Target Majors: Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, ASL/Deaf Studies with a tech focus, or related technical fields (Minimum 2 years required).
- Core Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of OS/software troubleshooting, clear written and verbal communication, and a high curiosity for cross-cultural/bilingual work environments.
