The Reality
Behind every field worker, remote translation team, and secure communication pipeline is a core network that keeps them connected. Based in Dallas, this internship places you in the operational engine room, managing the cloud services, physical servers, and network infrastructure that power global Bible translation. You’ll join a uniquely bilingual department (English and American Sign Language) and you’ll be part of a vibrant cohort of Dallas-based interns to live and pray with, engage in local DFW evangelism alongside, and get plugged into local churches and area ministries together.
What You Might Actually Do
- Server Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments to support critical non-profit operations and field databases.
- Network & Cloud Management: Help monitor, optimize, and secure local and cloud-based network infrastructure to ensure reliable, global connectivity.
- Automation & Scripting: Write PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate routine system maintenance, streamline user provisioning, and resolve recurring technical tasks.
- IT Team Support: Assist with broader IT Service Desk needs and incident escalations while contributing to long-term operational projects.
- Bilingual & Deaf Culture Immersion: Serve alongside Deaf and hearing teammates. While active ASL fluency isn’t required, you will actively engage with ASL and Deaf culture daily.
Who This Is For
- Required Mindset: Detail-oriented, natural troubleshooter, eager to learn ASL, service-minded, and passionate about keeping critical systems online for global ministry.
- Target Majors: Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, or related technical fields (Minimum 2 years required).
- Core Skills: Foundational experience with Windows Server, Linux environments, and shell scripting (PowerShell and/or Bash).
