The Reality
Connecting the next generation to global missions requires both creative, high-quality resources and energetic, real-world engagement. Based out of Dallas with summer travel across the Midwest, this dual-focus internship lets you write and test hands-on children’s curriculum while traveling to represent Pioneer Bible Translators at camps, Vacation Bible Schools (VBS), and churches. You’ll spend part of your time crafting Christ-centered lessons and the rest on the road, inspiring kids, church leaders, and students to join the story of Bible translation. You’ll also share life, prayer, and local outreach alongside a vibrant cohort of Dallas-based interns.
What You Might Actually Do
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with experienced content editors to draft, write, and refine Bible-based lessons that connect kids, youth, and homeschool groups to Scripture and global missions.
- Camp & VBS Mobilization: Travel across the Midwest to visit summer camps, VBS programs, and student events, leading engaging activities and sharing the vision of heart-language Scripture engagement.
- Field-Testing & Revision: Test your newly developed curriculum in real-time with local churches and camp groups, gathering feedback to revise the lessons for final production.
- Church & Student Engagement: Work alongside ministry teams and pastors to build relationships with church leaders, inspiring prayer, financial partnership, and student mobilization.
Who This Is For
- Ideal Candidates: Open to an individual single, a pair of friends (same-sex singles), or a young married couple with high-voltage “youth leader energy” and a deep passion for pouring into young people.
- Required Mindset: Creative, comfortable public speaking, flexible when managing a busy travel itinerary, and grounded in a rich biblical understanding of God’s global mission.
- Target Majors: Elementary/Secondary Education, Children’s or Youth Ministry, Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies, Creative Writing, or Communications (Minimum 2 years completed).
